PROFILE

Yosuke Katsuno is a Japanese creator who has built a diverse career as an actor, craftsman, and designer. The son of actor Hiroshi Katsuno and quilt artist/talent Cathy Nakajima, he was immersed in both performing arts and handicrafts from childhood. After leaving university, he studied fashion crafts at Bunka Fashion College before moving to Paris, where he spent five years honing his skills in embroidery and fashion. Returning to Japan in 2015, he began his career as a craftsman under the name “Yosuke,” launching the brand KATSUNO and developing works such as the “Katsuno Bag” series in collaboration with Kawabe Co., Ltd. His creations, blending stylish design with the warmth of handmade work, include embroidery, quilting, and knitting. In addition to producing original pieces, he has appeared on media such as NHK’s Sutekini Handmade and TBS’s Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai, while also hosting radio programs and leading workshops nationwide. Guided by the motto of bringing “handmade closer to everyday life” and inspiring people to try crafting, Katsuno continues to merge tradition with modern sensibilities, offering designs that provide both comfort and inspiration.
